Introduction

The majority of the information published by the ECGD is Crown Copyright, although in some instances Parliamentary Copyright may apply. The copyright status of a document should normally be indicated within its first few pages.

Crown Copyright

Crown Copyright protected material (excluding ECGD's logo and other copyrighted images) may be reproduced free of charge in any format or medium for non-commercial research, private study or for internal circulation within an organisation. This is subject to the material being reproduced accurately and not used in a misleading context.

For any other proposed use of the material please apply for a Click-Use PSI Licence.

A Click-Use Parliamentary Copyright licence would cover material produced by the House of Commons and the House of Lords of the Westminster Parliament. Only one Parliamentary Licence is required to reproduce Parliamentary Copyright material. The broadcasts of the Proceedings of Parliament fall outside of the scope of the Parliamentary Licence.

Third Party Copyright

The permission to reproduce Crown or Parliamentary Copyright protected material does not extend to any material on this site which is identified as being the copyright of a third party. Authorisation to reproduce such material must be obtained from the copyright holders concerned by making a request through ECGD.

ECGD's Logo

The copying and use ECGD's logo is not permitted.

Images, photography and maps

Some images on this website are reproduced under licence from third parties, others are the property of ECGD. Images reproduced under licence from third parties cannot be reproduced in any format and any authorisation to reproduce such material must be obtained from the copyright holders concerned by making a request through ECGD

Images that are the property of ECGD may be reproduced in certain instances, but not without the prior approval of ECGD. Permission requests should be directed to help@ecgd.gsi.gov.uk. Please tell us who you are, the organisation you represent (if any), the item you wish to use and how and why you wish to use it. Be sure to include your full contact details: name, address, telephone number, fax number and e-mail.

Graphs, charts and tables

Like other Crown Copyright material, graphs, charts and tables may be reproduced free of charge in any format or medium for research, private study or for internal circulation within an organisation. This is subject to the material being reproduced accurately and not used in a misleading context. You must identify the source (give the title of the document from which the item is taken) and state that it is Crown copyright. You must also use the following copyright notice:

To reproduce graphs, tables or charts from Crown copyright documents for any other use, you must have a Crown Copyright Click-use licence. However, graphs, tables and charts from waived Crown copyright documents may be reproduced freely without a licence. Hyperlinks to the ECGD website

You may link directly to pages or information hosted on ECGD's website. However, this permission should not be construed as an endorsement by ECGD of the accuracy or content of the material to which the link is made.

ECGD does not permit pages from its website to be loaded into frames on other sites. The ECGD pages must load into the user's entire window.

It is our policy to obtain permission to link to other websites. ECGD is not responsible for, and make no endorsement of, or representation in relation to, the content accuracy or reliability of the linked websites. ECGD cannot guarantee that these links will work all of the time and we have no control over the availability of linked pages.

ECGD does not respond to unsolicited requests to link to non-governmental sites.
